“Just a quick note to thank you and your team for last weekend. Freddie loved it and talks of little else. The event was brilliantly organised and Freddie wishes it could all happen again this weekend.” William England, parent

We will be running two residential Training Camps for players selected at the trials. The Camp provides an opportunity for players to work with top quality staff and train with other talented players in a professional and developmental environment. The Camp will focus on developing physical, mental, social, and technical abilities and attributes and last season included:

  • Chartered Physiotherapists who will conduct group sessions and individual screenings with each player to identify injury prevention and to enhance athletic performance. Parents will receive an individual written report with recommendations and exercise programmes.
  • Workshops conducted by an FA qualified Football Psychologist looking at developing ‘ mental fitness’. Topics will include relaxation techniques, use of visualisation and imagery.
  • Use of swimming pool for workshops with Sports Therapist
  • Highly qualified and experienced coaches
  • Specialist UEFA qualified goalkeeping coach

Your Questions about the Residential Camps

Where do the players stay? The players stay in boarding houses at Tonbridge School, supervised by the Prep Schools Staff who are experienced in boarding environments.

Can my my son choose who he shares a room with? The rooms are a mixture of sizes and players can only share with their team mates. We expect players to be willing to share with anyone in their team and we  don’t take requests for sharing with players they already know.

I’m worried about my son being away from home. The coaches are aware that being away from home can be daunting. It’s important that those players worried about being away are encouraged to make as many new friends as possible.  The coaching staff do plenty of team bonding activities and monitor the group to look for anyone not joining in.

I’m worried my son will wet his bed. If you let us know then we can ask Tonbridge School to fit a bed protector onto their bed.

Will an itinerary for the Camp be available? Yes an itinerary will be published on this page nearer to the Camp.
